Services

CTH offers a continuum of care for youth through our outpatient services from admission through discharge.  For those youth needing more intensive services, CTH offers residential services provided at our therapeutic family style group homes.  Our group homes are accredited by CARF as a residential setting and are on track for QTRP designation.  In 2013 CTH was recognized by CARF with an exemplary status designation.  In 2014,  CTH was featured in the CARF promising practices newsletter. CTH is a trauma informed agency utilizing TF-CBT (trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy), “I feel better now” SIT CAP, and SITCAP – ART , evidence based treatments to address trauma.  CTH uses the evidence based practices of motivational interviewing, and Pathways in clinical services.  CTH uses the evidence based practice of TFM (teaching family model) in the homes as the primary intervention  along with motivational interviewing and trauma based treatments recommended by the treatment team.  CTH offers the following services:

Case Management & Service Coordination

Behavioral health counseling and therapy is a therapeutic interaction with the person served focusing on the treatment needs. Services are structured sessions to work towards the obtainment of mutually defined treatment goals.

Mental Health Day Treatment is an intensive service offered at multiple days a week, several hours a day for youth with extensive challenges.  It is designed to assist with developing skills, managing behaviors to enhance opportunities for success in school/employment and independent living, and to provide interventions to improve treatment outcomes.

Case management and service coordination involves the provision of an array of services to assist in the addressing the client’s behavioral health needs. Services address specific individualized services to focus on improving the client’s ability to function in the community, help identify and access needed services, and improve client functioning in school, home, and community environment.

Individualized Treatment Plan

The Individualized Treatment Plan is the result of a collaborative process between the clinical service provider and the client, based on the diagnostic assessment and the successful identification of interventions and services.

Residential

Therapeutic Family Style Group Home Services are offered using the Teaching-Family model (TFM).   Teaching Family technology provides positive reinforcement programming in a family-based environment shaping behavior through immediate and continual teaching. Intervention techniques center on motivation systems that is used to identify pre-behaviors and the prevention of intensive behavioral interactions. Earned privileges and praise are the motivators of change. One key component of the model is the belief that for change to be sustainable, the motivation for the change needs to be internal. External motivators are tied and eventually weaned as the youth finds praise, pride, and increase self-worth motivators for change. Being community is a “classroom”, an opportunity for continual growth and learning in a safe environment. Based upon individual needs, and guardian approval, youth are provided opportunities for normal childhood experiences so that they can learn from their successes and their failures.
